March Goals | 2 0 1 7 |

Can you believe that March is already here?! Up here in the frozen tundra (that's been more fog, less frozen lately) February seems to be going out like a lion and March seems to be the quiet lamb coming in...but only time will tell if that's true - those forecasters only seem to get things right 50% of the time...
I'm just teasing, I know how difficult it must be to predict weather...the weather has an unfair advantage, being controlled by the Ultimate Controller up there...

Anyways. I shared some goals for February that I thought I would recap on, and then share my new goals (or continuing goals...spoiler alert...):

Family Goals:

  1. Fit 20 hours of work in for February.
NOPE. I've been so exhausted...I think I have 4 hours in (which is good considering...).

  2. Memorize 4 Bible verses with the kids.
Eesh...I have been so not diligent with their Scripture memory this month...

  3. Eat Whole 30 the whole month (with exception to the kids having snacks).
Mmmm...yea...NO. Flop. I did find that my portions are still a reasonable size (which is a win for me) and we do eat healthier. Little income means going out and ordering less!

Prayer Goals:

  1. Spend 15 minutes each day to journal in prayer.
No. I got one day in and it was precious. We just haven't quite gotten in the swing of a new schedule yet...

  2. Memorize 3 verses having to do with prayer.
Again. No. If I don't memorize with the kids, it doesn't happen for me either...

  3. Develop a prayer routine for people & requests.
No to this one too. (Part of the reason I made that goals sheet - I forgot EVERYTHING I planned on working towards...)

Blogging Goals:

  1. Add Etsy shop pieces. No, but I am in progress of making things happen with Etsy, so this was a partial success...

  2. Boost email subscribers to 50.
No, but I have had significant progress in moving over to Blogspot and feeling comfortable with it. Win!

  3. Host 3-4 guest posters.
No, but I did get ONE guest poster in. My other posters didn't get things to me, so I consider having one a success.

Personal Goals:

  1. Eat Whole 30 for the month.
Yea, yea, we already talked about this one above...

  2. Finish reading 3 books (Crossing the Waters, Liked, & Women of Easter).
    Mmmm...No.

  3. Drink 3 water bottles of water each day.
I got at LEAST 2 bottles of water in each day and that doesn't include the two or three cups of tea that I would also have throughout the day! WOOO!
Even though most of my goals were flops (which is why I NEVER set goals...) I have been able to read small successes into my days. My goal of Whole 30 and the water was to help control my weight gain through this pregnancy. We don't have a scale at home, so I have no idea where I am at - I don't like seeing the numbers because they are considered obese for my height. I did go in to the Doctor for my first OB recently and the scale was 10 pounds lighter than what I had anticipated, so I feel a success in that.

As far as my prayer goals and reading, I have decided to unplug on Thursdays so that I can get some of my home and book work things done. This will hopefully help in crossing out a few more goals.

I am actually excited to set some goals again for March just because the tiny success that I've had feel so good.

Family Goals:

  1. Fit 10 hours of work in for March.
  2. Memorize 4 Bible verses with the kids.
  3. Eat Whole 30 the whole month (with exception to the kids having snacks).
Prayer Goals:

  1. Spend 15 minutes each day to journal in prayer.
  2. Memorize 3 verses having to do with prayer.
  3. Develop a prayer routine for people & requests.

Blogging Goals:

  1. Begin Etsy Affiliate program.
  2. Add Etsy pieces.
  3. Newsletter subscribers up to 50.

Personal Goals:

  1. Monitor portion control and junk intake (perhaps in a food journal).
  2. Finish reading 4 books (A Wife's Secret to Happiness, Crossing the Waters, Liked, & Women of Easter).
  3. Go for a walk every day that it's warm enough. (This goal may need to change depending on March's weather mood...)

Friend Goals:

  1. Send 2 notecards/postcards each week.
  2. Coffee with Kenna once.
  3. One-on-one date with Brittney.

So, those are my goals for March. I am looking forward to seeing how they go! You'll notice I added another section for myself. I realized that I wanted to focus on caring for my friendships and showing my love to them better, and more often, so I have included a section for friends this month.

  1. Celebrate those tiny successes! Sometimes we can see goals as either pass or fail, but even the little steps towards growth count in the long run.

It's funny that you mention frozen tundra, because here on the other side of the world we've just finished an extremely hot summer (getting up to 47.c, or 116.f, on some days). A mild, rainy autumn is very welcome!
