Where I find my fashion inspiration - Wear it Wednesday

You can get fashion inspiration from almost anywhere. From nature: obviously in the Midwest it has a tendency to dictate what we wear to a degree - cool in the summer, cold in the winter and you just never know what spring or fall will be...from social media - search hashtags, follow companies, fashion bloggers...on IG - again, hashtags, follow, businesses...friends - they usually have some weight on how we dress or what we wear.

For myself, I am an Instagram junky. I have found all of my favorite businesses, ethical companies and fashionistas there. I don't follow a lot of fashion bloggers, I don't use Facebook much beyond promoting my blog but I spend a lot of time on Instagram and I do lots of fashion/outfit challenges.

Sometimes I feel bad that my Instagram isn't more of my kids but I use snapchat for them. Instagram has been a great way for me to have accountability with what I wear and it's amped my game by following people with styles that I admire and brands that I absolutely love.

Here's a few of my favorites to follow for fashion inspiration:

It’s hard to believe through almost 10 seasons as a @noondaycollection ambassador, our design team continues to blow me away each and every time!  It seriously keeps getting better and better.  I am a true spring + summer girl, so I am LOVING this springlike weather in Texas, the fact that college baseball started this weekend, and I'm seriously looking forward to endless hours outdoors. Todays #AmbassadorStyleChallenge is "I heart you", and spring - I have a major crush on you!  The #miragescarf designed by Austin designer @leahduncan and handmade by artisans in India is sure to make many appearances on my neck this season-  100% silk and oh so girly and the perfect accessory to elevate your outfit.  I know you WILL fall in love with our #flightoffancyearrings from Peru (brass, silver + semi precious stones, yes please!) and pair the two with an instant fave the #raritycuff from Vietnam (along with some other fave #armparty bracelets) , and YOU ARE SET! I can’t wait to hear what YOU are loving!  Take a look around the catalog (link in profile) and tell me what’s give YOU all the heart eyes! 😍😍 #NoondayStyle [📷 @imaniphotography ]

These shoes provide jobs to hard working makers in Guatemala. For them, it's #tgim not #tgif . Work is a powerful thing.

Those are a few of my favorites. You'll notice that a lot of them have Noonday Collection in them but that's because Noonday kind of birthed the realization in me that I LOVED fashion. Especially when it comes to ethical shopping and fair trade.

The other place that I get more of my inspiration from than anywhere else is Pinterest.

  2. Me too! I totally agree!!! I like to go to Pinterest if I am preparing to do a closet overhaul, or need some new ideas of how to mix things, otherwise my every day idea catcher is for sure Instagram! :)
