December Series: A prayer for FORGIVENESS

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”
― Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

Have you tasted the freedom of forgiveness for yourself? Have you gone through a time of struggle to come out angry and bitter and unable to move forward because you need to forgive something or someone?

I have. I have tried healing on my own, not even recognizing that I needed to forgive, ME. I have moved ahead barely keeping my head above water because I didn't realize or didn't want to face having to forgive someone for the hurts and wounds that they caused me.

How much more difficult it must be to forgive yourself and especially your captors when you are made to be less than an animal?

Will you pray with me today that the victims of the sex trade can know Christ's forgiveness and ultimately endure in that and pass it on to their en-slavers?

"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
Ephesians 4:32

Oh Father,

I can only imagine how much forgiving must take place when one is captured and tortured. God, I pray that you meet the victims of human trafficking in the place that they are. Help them to know your forgiveness from the Cross. Help them to accept you and your abundance of loving forgiveness.

Help them to be able to forgive themselves for this is not their fault!

Give them an overwhelming knowledge of your forgiveness for themselves that they may live free from guilt over this horrid situation.

Help them to know forgiveness for their captors and abusers. Wash over them with a forgiveness that only you know and can give. Let them be free from this life of torture and guilt by forgiving those that they hate and loath.

Convict the captors and abusers through the forgiveness that they receive from their slaves.

As a God of forgiveness, use it as a weapon to thwart the enemy's plans of slavery and bondage!

Can you feel the war for these people as we pray? I particularly felt it today. The enemy hates our freedom and these poor souls are easy targets with so much weighing on them!

What a joyous gift to be able to pray these truths over them!!!

Join me again on Thursday for more!!!
