December Series: A Prayer for COURAGE

“Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.”
― Maya Angelou

How much must you need courage to face each day that you know will bring you nothing but pain and disgrace? I can only imagine that the amount is immeasurable and heavy.

Pray with me for courage for the survivors of the sex trade.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9

Heavenly Father, we ask that you would grant courage to those that are in bondage.

Be their hope and their strength to stand in courage. Instead of courage draining them, may it energize them and strengthen them to continue on day, after day, after day.

Help them not to be frightened or dismayed, but instead, help them to know that you are with them wherever they go, as we prayed for your presence yesterday. Help them to draw courage from knowing your presence.

Help them to have the courage to dream dreams of beyond their bondage. Help them to have the courage to hope for an end to their sufferings.

Grant them with the courage to stand up for themselves when they need to. Let them see the opportunities to reach out for help and give them the courage to do so boldly with hope that it will also provide help for those that are in bondage at their side.

Give them courage to report what is being done, help their courage to stand strong and unwavering to continue to go about their days with grace and humility and a love for themselves that comes only from you.

Provide the courage to them to know that they are not broken, damaged, filthy good, but they are a new creation and they are good.

That closes up our December prayer series. I hope you enjoyed it and benefited from it as much as I have.

I so enjoyed praying with you this month. It will be exciting to one day find out how our praying together this month affected the lives of these people that we loved on this month. I hope we find out. <3

Until next year,
