Good Reads: Life is Better at the Beach by Christina Vinson

Summer is drawing to a close, school is getting back in session, teachers are full swing in planning and prep mode, moms are doing back to school shopping, stocking up on school supplies, tucking away camping things, vacation trips are wrapping up, scrapbooks are being filled with memories - it's a bittersweet time of year I think.

But it shouldn't be.

There is no reason that the excitement and adventures have to end, every day could be the same as the beginning of a vacation, if we wanted it to be. Sure, things are different, different season, different circumstances, but, what if we looked at every day as if it was still summer vacation? As if we were still on the beach?

That is exactly what Christina Vinson does in the book, Life is Better at the Beach. She takes a look at each of the things the beach includes and parallels them with day to day life.

Using scripture references and beautiful imagery, Vinson walks us through different ways to look at each day as if we were carefree at the beach. She gives freedom to do things that our culture patronizes- like taking naps! The chapters are short, encouraging and supported by beautiful illustrations of beach life.

Life is Better at the Beach would make the perfect gift to lift someone's spirits. Add it to a bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates or something else sweet and comforting and you have the perfect little gift to brighten a friend's day! It also makes a wonderful coffee table book or a bathroom book if that's your thing! ;)
