What is a Liebster Award?
"In the blogging world, the Liebster Award is online recognition given by bloggers to other new bloggers for enjoying or valuing their work. It is meant to highlight and credit favorite new up and coming blogs within our writing community." - from Jentheredonethat.com
Still confused? Here's a little more info about it!
Here are the official rules:
If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award AND YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:
- Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
- Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)
- Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.
- Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
- Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers.
- Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
- List these rules in your post (You can copy and paste from here.) Once you have written and published it, you then have to:
- Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)
I have 22 questions to answer since I had 2 nominations (I am entirely humbled by the gesture!!!) so here they are:
- What is your dream career?Oh man...Um...just to be a stellar mom I guess. I don't really have a dream job...
- Who or what is your biggest inspiration in life? This one is always so hard for me...It depends on what it is that I'm looking at. I have friends that inspire me, family, circumstances...
- What is your favorite thing about yourself? My gift of giving. I love giving and I love that I love to give. That sounds silly.
- Do you have a favorite blog? Or maybe a few! Share them with us!Of coarse my sister-in-law's blog has to be a favorite, Fellow Passengers, Raising Wild(my newest favorite) Jones Design Company and I can't leave out Adventurous Shelby!
- What is the best advice you have ever received? There really isn't any one thing that comes to mind...
- What television shows are you completely addicted to (current, or on Netflix/Amazon/etc)?I LOOOOOVE Monster Fish. I could watch it over and over and over again. Strange, I know. :)
- What is your favorite quote?I don't get in to quotes very often. I'm not sure...
- If you could bring back something from another generation that we no longer do or use today, what would that be? Floppy Disks. I think they're fun. :)
- If you could be friends with any fictional character, who would it be? (associate link coming) One of the characters from Dee Henderson's The O'Malley Chronicles
. They're my kind of people! - Which book have you read that has had the biggest impact on you?The most recent one has to be Emily T Wirenga's book, Finding Home. It's wonderful.
- If you could change one thing about the world what would that be?I would find the orphans safe homes.
1.) Are you a full time blogger or do you work outside the home? Neither. I have debated whether or not I can really consider myself an actual blogger because I'm not looking to make a ton of money or build a MASSIVE following, I just want to share my story and encourage people through my life experiences. And otherwise I stay home with my guys! :)
2.) How do you balance work/family time when it comes to keeping up with your blog? I try to only take a day to write posts and a couple hours in the morning to do social media type things.
3.) Do you have a favorite vacation spot? Anywhere camping with my people.
4.) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Scotland/Ireland fo sho!!!
5.) If you could interview anyone in the world, who would it be? Natalie Creates. I just think it would be so fun to sit down to coffee with her and hear her.
6.) Are you naturally tidy or naturally messy? How does this effect your ability to blog? I'm totally messy. I claim artistic freedom here which I think boosts my blog because I can go about my day without having to have the dishes in the sink put away before I sit down to the computer. :) It's also a total bummer for my guys...haha!
7.) How will you celebrate when you hit 100,000 subscribers? Oh. Man. I cannot even fathom. Throw a HUGE bloggy party and do a giveaway - because - like previously mentioned...I LOVE TO GIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
8.) Do you blog about your family? Or do you like to keep your family (especially kids) private from your blogging world? I love to blog about my family. I think it's really important to be vulnerable with our lives. While there are things that I will not ever post (because my family still deserves certain privacies) there is very little that I won't share here.
9.) When did you post your first blog post? My first blog post as the Accidental Nomad Life blog was February 1, 2016, but, my first ever was way back before I got married...that blog didn't make it very long... ;)
10.) What is your favorite way to relax? Good question. What does that even mean? I love to be busy. I love to do things. I don't know what I do to wind down...ha!
11.) If you could go on a weekend getaway – just you and no one else – to clear your head and have some much needed R&R, where would you go and why? To Duluth and I would walk around on the shore. But let's be really honest here. I wouldn't survive a weekend alone. I am totally about being with my people and I would drag 10 of my friends with me!!! :)
11 Random Facts about me:
