Fighting sex trafficking through the purchase of gorgeous fashion

I have always had a passion to fight for people in sticky situations, "stand up for the little guy," get in the face of bullies picking on victims. Although it was wrong, I even went so far as to bully the bullies back from time to time.

I always thought of my self as an activist of sorts, however I don't picket and I don't get actively involved in rallies and all of that. I like to be the support system. The behind the scenes that has your back.

There is also a burning passion for missions work and overseas work that has been housed in my heart although I never had a calling to GO. I had my "go calling" over a few summers of doing CEF and the working as a counselor at Big Sandy Camp one summer but after that, I got married and since my husband has no calling for active missions work, I have had to find ways to support missions outside of GOING.

For a while we partnered with a couple of different child sponsorship missions but we were barely making ends meat for ourselves, let alone able pay $30 a month to support another child (as much as our hearts longed to help). I have had to find creative outlets to support and work with those in a mission.

I grew to learn about companies that were partnering with people in other countries and rescuing them from vulnerability by creating jobs for them and supporting them in learning how to care for themselves and others two years ago. Instagram is an amazing place to connect with up and coming companies.

Elegantees is one that quickly became a favorite of mine! I followed them on Instagram for the last two years and was so excited to purchase my very first piece when I joined the Dressember movement in December 2015.

Today, I have the honor and privilege of being an ambassador for Elegantees and sharing their misson and their work with you! What is Elegantees and how does fashion and clothing help support people rescued from sex trafficking? Read on and learn how:

"Sex trafficking is enslaving a human against their will to perform sexual favors while someone else makes money from it. Elegantees has joined the fight against this by helping provide a new life for those brought out of it. Our mission statement is to provide hope to survivors of sex trafficking in Nepal. A positive source of income that reinforces independence, a healthy self-image, and confidence restores lives one elegant tee at a time.

Nepal is a beautiful kingdom between China and India with mountains and countryside. It’s also one of the least developed countries in the world and ranks high for sex trafficking. Each year The Nepali Rescue Project finds over 20,000 women and children who were pulled into trafficking and returns them to dignity.

The best way to reduce trafficking in Nepal is to reduce the poverty. The sewing center in Nepal is where we aim to employ hundreds. They are paid a fair and living wage for a meaningful way to live.  There are about 10 sewers on the team."

What I love about Elegantees is their mission, the heart behind the company, as well as their pieces! Every time I wear my dresses - I feel glamorous. Every time I wear the Rebecca top I know that I am making a difference, I feel the pride of the maker.

I won a dress in November from an IG giveaway they were doing and I was a little nervous about how it would fit me. It's a size medium and I am a size XL. I was determined to keep it though. When it came, I put it on right away. I completely saw myself differently. I was able to look past my body shape and I just feel the pride of the person that sewed the dress.

And that, right there is the heart behind Elegantees. Changing lives and giving hope.

You need Elegantees in your life! And just because they are completely generous and genuinely care about people and making an impact on lives, they have given me a discount code to offer to you for 10% off - WAHOO!!!!
