day 5 – How to Plan a Party: where to begin

so you want to plan a party huh? need a little help? this is where you want to be! over the next few days we will be going over how to have a smooth party and walking through the planning process together.

now let's discuss your theme. there is an unending list of what kind of a theme you could have for your party but pick one and we will go from there. once you have your theme picked out it's usually pretty simple to grab the right colors to coordinate.

without fail, any time that i have to plan a party i head over to pinterest and either create a new board for my event, like this one or add to my existing boards here.

i start out by doing a search for the kind of party that i am hosting, things like "boy's party, outdoor party, backyard party, 40th birthday, bridal shower, etc." you can even get more specific with things like, "boy's 3rd birthday, outdoor bbq party, backyard tea party, tea party bridal shower, etc." just think through key words that describe the feel that you want your party to have.
