Happy Wear It Wednesday! Today Kayla and I are talking again about transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall part 2. Today, I (Shelby) am talking about cardigans and ankle boots! Jump over to Adventurous Shelby to read Kayla's post on how to style your fall Scarfs!
Cardigans are the perfect light layer, add over a dress, over a simple tank or make it a double layer for a more casual chic look, and they look great with ankle boots! For a sophisticated look, remember way back when I styled my LBD with my dark green drape cardigan from Stitch Fix? And to add a textural dimension to the look add a boho layer beaded necklace like this one from 31 Bits or Noonday Collection.
Finish this fall inspired look ankle booties, like this fringe boho-inspired pair from Minnetonka! Which I own and will tell you are AMAZING!

I have 2 pairs of ankle boots, although I consider my moccasins to be booties. The key to wearing ankle boots is to pair with jeans and to roll the cuff above the top of the boot, like in the image below. With booties, I prefer a straighter fit denim with the cuff rolled just to the top, or paired with a boho inspired dress.

I interviewed for an Interior Design job last December and this is the edgy look I went for. My LBD, with burgundy tights, heeled ankle boots and an avocado boyfriend cardigan.
I love lots of casual layers, perfect for days when the weather can't decide or you can't decide. Pair a colored cardigan over a simple tee or tank and finish the look with a denim jacket and black skinnies. Adding heeled ankle boots would be a fabulous way to finish off this look!
