Today we are going to share about our cosmetics, hair and make up. Neither Shelby or myself are much into make up so it's going to be sweet and simple and for myself, affordable. Check it out...

As you can see, I have very few pieces ^up there ^. I keep things very simple, easy and to the point. I was in eighth grade and at camp with my grandma (yep, my grandma took us to camp every year from the time I was 6 until I was 18.). It was morning and I was in the bathroom putting my make up on. One of the grandmas stepped in, saw me putting it on and in a loving and teasing way she said, "be careful, once you begin using that stuff you'll need it for the rest of your life." That has forever stuck with me and I have tried to stay as minimal as possible and find my beauty without makeup - using it as just an added bonus. To enhance my features rather than relying on it to make me beautiful. So here goes:

I love the Aveeno line. It has treated my sensitive and prone skin so well. They have something for every skin type and I have used a lot of their products. I even use it for the boys - they have a baby eczima lotion and a regular eczima lotion that has worked wonders for all of my guys. The two that I have pictured are fabulous. I'm not one to use foundation very much, when I first started I used Mary Kay powder foundation but it always made me feel weighted down, it felt heavy and I felt like it made me greasy. I found the Aveeno BB Cream there (the small bottle on the left) and I have loved it ever since. It's a nice, light lotion foundation and it helps to even my skin tone out really well. On the average day, after I jump out of the shower I slather the ultra-calming lotion on first thing.

After lotion I do hair. I almost always spray myself in the eyeball so I do this BEFORE I put the rest of my makeup on. Oiy. All I do is spray a good amount in my hair - enough to make me feel like it won't just go totally flat by noon. I pull my bangs back with a couple of criss-crossing bobby pins, (apparently that's not the right way to do it - but I haven't figured out how not to) and then I just fluff it a little, let it dry with the hair spray in and voila. Easy Peasy.

Next I move onto my very simple eye routine. I only ever wear eyeliner and mascara and sometimes just one or the other. Years ago I found an eyeliner at the beauty store that my mom frequents and I have not been able to use anything else since. I just found it on Amazon, here. I always use the green since it helps to enhance my green eyes! I am really picky when it comes to my eyeliner because of how I wear it. I put it on what's called my waterline...here's how...then I curl my lashes (it's just a generic Target or Walmart lash curler.) and add my mascara. I have been a big fan of Maybelline because of this song:

You're welcome for that. Anyways, I use just about any of Maybelline's mascaras, I haven't found one that I don't like.

Next I finish off with my lips. I don't tend to wear something every day but I always have a stick of Burt's Bees with me. I have been itching to try lip color but I don't care for lip gloss or lipstick (YUCK) so I thought why not try Burt's?! I LOVE it! The Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb and the Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia are the only two that I've tried but I know that I need a specific shade to coordinate with my skin tone. Anything that's a little bit purpley works well for me and also helps enhance my green eyes! When I don't want color and also need to hydrate my lips the squeezable one there is a winner as well as any of his regular chapstics.

And there you have it friends! Head over to see what Shelby is sharing today and come back here and comment on what your favorite cosmetic is or what your daily beauty routine typically consists of!!!
