Coffee Talk // refreshing my heart

Well, I made it through the 31 Days only 5 days off. WOOHOO! I began to be burnt out there by the end but I think it's just because I am still fighting to get onto a decent posting schedule. I may begin pre-writing all of my posts so I'm not so on the spot. We'll see. It really enjoyed this past 31 days though. It pushed me to get through a lot of inner turmoil and really pushed me to follow things through to completion. I worked through a lot of my working process and finally am at a point where I feel like I can begin to move ahead. I am now working on what direction I want to take the Creative Jayne with posting and getting involved with contributing to others and such but I will let God lead.

Another coffee talk today. I sure enjoy these, I hope you are enjoying them as well. I have to go get myself a warm cup of tea (I already had my coffee for the day) and I will be right back.

So today my mom took the boys for me. They actually spend the night over there last night and mom chose to keep them to give me a day of quiet. What a mom, huh?! :) Thanks mom! It's been really nice. I ended up sleeping until 9:30 which is REALLY unusual for me. The boys ALWAYS get up at 7 so that's when I get up. It's fun when their little faces come bopping in the room and are right in front of mine when I open my eyes to, "Hi Mama, hi mama, hi mama, hi mama!" warms a mama's heart. But I got up at 9:30 and sat down at the table with some warm granola, a cup of piping hot coffee, my Bible, planner and prayer journal prepared to refresh and start my quiet day off right.

My Bible had already been open to Esther but I wanted something else. My go-to book for refreshment is the Psalms. I just love them. As I began reading where I had left off at chapter 19, within the first few words I was refreshed. Have you ever noticed how refreshing it is to focus on God's worthiness and holiness versus yourself? It just really struck me today as I read. Here is Psalm 19 for you to read:

Psalm 19[a]

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
    It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
    like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
    and makes its circuit to the other;
    nothing is deprived of its warmth.

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
    and all of them are righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
    in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
    Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
    may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
    innocent of great transgression.

14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
    Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

I always get my Scripture from Biblgateway.com in case you are wondering where it's coming from.

Isn't it just beautiful? I was just so in awe of his peace I guess. I just BASKED and SOAKED in his glory as I read this. I just love verse 14 too. I believe if every morning began with that as my heart's prayer my days would go much smoother in the long-run. I hope this Psalm spoke to your heart today as much as it did mine. In honor of it's beauty, I made a printable for you to snag!
