February Goals | 2017

I am not a goal setter...It hurts me to set goals because I generally do not live up to them and I don't like that. So. I avoid it all together. Makes sense, right?

Just kidding. It's kind of annoying, if I'm honest. I'm a real go getter when it comes to most things, but my goals just seem to go along the way side. I'm ok, with adjustment and change and if I have no goals, it's easier to adjust my expectations and plans.

But I'd like to change that. My friend Lecy does a post each month with her goals in and it has inspired me to set some for myself. I broke my goals down into categories that are important to me and I will be setting 3 goals in each category.

Family Goals:

  1. Fit 20 hours of work in for February.

  2. Memorize 4 Bible verses with the kids.

  3. Eat Whole 30 the whole month (with exception to the kids having snacks).

Prayer Goals:

  1. Spend 15 minutes each day to journal in prayer.

  2. Memorize 3 verses having to do with prayer.

  3. Develop a prayer routine for people & requests.

Blogging Goals:

  1. Add Etsy shop pieces.

  2. Boost email subscribers to 50.

  3. Host 3-4 guest posters.

Personal Goals:

  1. Eat Whole 30 for the month.

  2. Finish reading 3 books (Crossing the Waters, Liked, & Women of Easter).

  3. Drink 3 water bottles of water each day.

If you feel so inclined, would you keep me in prayer when you think of me? I know that a majority of these goals are going to be difficult for me to face and accomplish even though they are rather simple. But that I would stay encouraged in the midst of feeling like I'm not making progress, that is the most difficult task for me.

Please let me know how I can pray for you this month too!

  1. You have some great goals here! So your whole family will follow Whole30 with you, except snacks? That's awesome!! I'm doing it with a friend right now...I tried to talk my hubby into it, but he isn't a big fan. He would have to much to give up, haha!

  3. Thank you!!! Weeeeeelllllll...to be perfectly honest, I haven't told my husband yet, BUT, the last time we began it, he was on board, he just got extra hungry at work so I may make exceptions for him. But Breakfast and dinner we will all do together. We regularly live off of chicken, eggs, and potatoes, I'll just have to find better ways to sweeten my oatmeal than brown sugar. ha! :) So, we'll see. If nothing else, my goal is for ME to get into better eating habits.

  5. I'm so proud of you! I love your idea of splitting your goals up into categories. It makes them seem so much more attainable than putting them in a big list. I might try this next month. I also really like that you made a point to set a goal for 15 minutes of prayer journaling and memorizing Scripture with the boys. I have a problem setting very large goals for myself and I need to get in the habit of setting smaller ones that I can actually achieve. Fifteen minutes might not sound like a lot at first, but making that point to sit down and do something every day is important. Thanks for the inspiration, sweet friend!
