Dear hurting, aching, fighter:
Life is hard right now. It's hard to look at social media without wanting to bang your head against the wall or shriveling up into a ball in the darkest corner of your bedroom. All you want to do is unfriend, unfollow and disconnect from everyone and every thing that seems happy, that makes life seem like is just cruising by painlessly and seamlessly.
It's ok. You can feel that way.
Cry.
Let it all out.
Cry until your sides feel ready to cave in. Until your eyes can't physically keep up with the tears that have been poured out into your hands, onto your pillow, soaked up on your sweatshirt collar and sleeves.
Cry that deep, dark, ugly cry that you don't think anyone could ever love you through.
Yes.
You CAN do it!
Because you ARE loved through it. On the other side of it, after your face is so blotchy it looks like you have a skin disease and your eyes are so swollen that you can't open them anymore with out crying more from the pain, you are STILL loved.
David declared that our Heavenly Father bottles EVERY tear! "You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book."
Things will get better. I know that's difficult to hear, you feel like you are drowning in the pain and sorrows, but look to the light.
Follow the bubbles to the surface and see what God is doing.
Maybe he feels distant, cold, inattentive but I promise you he is not.
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Keep fighting.
Don't give up.
The harder you hold on to that tiny sliver of hope, the stronger you are going to come out on the other side.
The better you will become for simply clinging.
If all you can do is believe that God is, THAT is enough. Keep believing - the more you believe, the more you will see. If you give up in any belief, it is the end.
Go ahead and question - scream your questions to the heavens - he is listening. He is aching with you.
He is aching with you.
He ached at the people that he disciplined, he ached at casting Adam and Eve out, he ached at turning from Jesus on the cross.
He is not unfamiliar with the ache that you are feeling.
Look.
Look up.
There is more than what you can see.
Chin up, sweet one, the pain is only temporary and he is doing a good thing in you.
