I was searching through a few of the Write 31 Days categories for other bloggers to connect with and follow and came across LeeAnn G Taylor - embracing the mosaic life. She is posting about Parenting with Purpose. I caught up on her posts last night and in one of them she shared about the importance of teaching your children the Word. She used the verses above and as I got to thinking I just couldn't think of anything better to offer on a print for your home than some of God's word.
After I got through her posts I was very encouraged to work on getting myself out of bed early so I can have some time to myself. My boys are early-ish risers so if I don't beat them out of bed our days tend to be a boulder rolling down a hill. I got myself out of bed at 6:30 this morning so that I could refresh myself in my devotions before the madness began. I also got a little reading of Desperate in. Have you read it? It's been wonderful so far. I'm not very far into it but it is refreshing and encouraging. I am looking forward to getting deeper into it.
The other thing that has encouraged me as a mom lately was Psalm 8:
How Majestic Is Your Name
To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith.[a] A Psalm of David.
1 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c]
in the heavens.
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c]
5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e]
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their[g] feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their[g] feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
I just loved the first two verses particularly verse two that proclaims that "Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger." It was just a good reminder to me that the noises of children and babies bring praise to Jesus. You see, I have a 4 year old boy that talks INCESSANTLY, are there any other mamas out there that can say AMEN?! Haha! I have a screamer and a talker and even their constant noise brings praise to their Heavenly Father.
After that sweet note from Jesus and being reminded that I need to be in the Word and talking of the Word without fail I just felt that the words in Deuteronomy were perfect to grace our mantles with this fall. Feel free to click the image to download or click here. Feel free to share, being sure to link back here. It's sized to 8x10 but it will print on a regular letter sized page. You can just trim it down to the cut marks in the corners.
Enjoy, friend!

[…] One of my biggest missions is to lead my children to Christ and to reflect him through my home (see yesterday’s post) but secondly it is to be an encourager. I love pouring into other young ladies and young moms. […]
